Steve Mawdsley's Reel Crazy Fishing Charters chose Winter Harbour to operate from in 2010 for several reasons. Without a doubt, Winter Harbour has the biggest and the most Salmon on the West Coast. Winter Harbour also boasts some of the wildest remote wilderness in the world. Our 24.5 Ciera is equipped with enough HP & state of the art equipment to get us to the fish and get the fish in the boat. Catching your limit of large salmon is the norm at Winter Harbour.

Dick Robinson's Last Resort B & B chose Winter Harbour in 1998 for the same reasons. Dick's last resort accommodates our fishing guests to complete an economical all Inclusive fishing package for outdoor & fishing enthusiasts. Dick's Last Resort is a comfortable 3 floor B & B with 3 bedrooms on the top floor, 2 bedrooms on the main and one bedroom on the ground level. A large country style kitchen can seat a dozen guests with ease. The front entrance with balcony gives guests a place to relax after fishing or dinner providing panoramic views that can only be described as breathtaking.There are freezers to store guests catches.

Our Commercial Sports Fishery on the West Coast is evolving thus becoming more safety conscious, requiring operators of Lodges, Camps, Guides and Fishing Charters alike to maintain certain high standards for their respective boats and operators. Steve's operation complies with these standards, All Fishing Charter Operators in Canada must have completed the following.

SVOP (Small Vessel Operator Proficiency or equivalent)

Marine First Aid + 35 years as a EMD/Paramedic with BC Ambulance 15 of those years an ALS Advanced Life Support.

MED A3 (Marine Emergency Duties Course)
